Rev. Darryl L. Rodgers Sr.

On Sunday, December 11, 2011, Rev. Darryl L. Rodgers Sr. was ordained and installed as the 3rd pastor of Trinity Baptist Church with an overwhelming majority vote.  Through the gift of the Holy Spirit, Pastor Rodgers has been an inspiration to many people.  We are experiencing continuous growth and a feeling of true renewal.

Pastor Rodgers was born in Warren OH. He has four brothers and two sisters. He received his calling into the ministry under the direction of Rev. Grady Williams who was serving as Pastor of the Trinity Baptist church.  He received Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior at an early age as a member of Triedstone Baptist Church also in Warren, Ohio.

He joined TBC in 1992. He has been serving in the church for the past twenty years (seventeen of those Associate Minister).  During that time, he has been active in our Sunday School ministry, where he taught God’s word to our Adult class.

Pastor Rodgers has been instrumental in leading many young people into the fellowship of Jesus Christ through his willingness to interact with them through the Youth Ministry.  He has served as their advisor for the past fifteen years.  Rev. Rodgers has always followed and supported the overall goals set forth by his Pastor, Rev. Grady Williams, as he served under his leadership.

Pastor Rodgers graduated from both Youngstown State University and Tiffin University. He is a Licensed Social Worker with the Ohio Counselor, Social Worker and Marriage and Family Therapist Board.  He is a Licensed Independent Chemical Dependency Counselor with the Ohio Chemical Dependency Professional Board.  He is an Internationally Certified Clinical Supervisor under the International Certification & Reciprocity Consortium.  In addition, he holds the designation as Master Addiction Counselor for the College of Certified Forensic Counselors.

He has worked as a substance abuse counselor.  He has worked as an Adult Probation Officer for Trumbull County and during this time, he graduated from MTC Police Academy. He is currently employed by Trumbull County Common Pleas Court as a Drug Court Administrator and Coordinator.

He is a member of the Trumbull County Community Corrections Board and a member of the Ohio Justice Alliance for Community Correction; Ohio Supreme Court Specialized Dockets Practitioner Network; The Ohio Substance Abuse Monitoring Network. In addition he is a member of the National Associate for Addiction Professional and National Association of Drug Court Professionals as well as a member of the American Society of Addiction Medicine.

Pastor Rodgers is married to the former Michelle Walker, a literacy coordinator and teacher with the Warren City School District.  They have three children, two sons, Darryl Jr. and Michael and one daughter, Alexis.
